Every year, our school proudly runs the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service)  program designed to immerse students in local nature and culture, forming a central part of our community service initiative. The CAS project aims to bridge classroom learning with real-world experiences, allowing students to engage deeply with the communities they serve. By participating in this initiative, students gain valuable insights into different ways of life and develop a stronger sense of social responsibility.

Uncovering the Giripurwo Village

This year, our Grade 12 students had an extraordinary opportunity to immerse themselves in the local culture by living with families in Giripurwo Village, Yogyakarta. The village, where most residents are engaged in farming and woodworking, faces significant challenges with accessing a reliable water supply. Through their CAS project, students applied their academic knowledge and social skills to make a positive impact. They contributed by constructing valuable communal spaces and promoting sustainable living practices within the community.

Learn, Connect,and Impact

The CAS project proved to be a fantastic opportunity for students to learn, connect, and give back. By engaging with the local culture and participating in community service, students developed a deeper understanding of global and local issues while forging lasting friendships and making a difference. This immersive experience underscored the importance of community engagement and highlighted the transformative power of hands-on learning.
